You Are Either With Us or Against Us

Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his AKP Government in Turkey continue to arrest their opponents under the "Ergenekon" trial. Their latest victim is Ilker Basbug, the former commander of the Turkish Army, one of the biggest and strongest army forces in the world. Basbug is accused of plotting to bring down the AKP government through the use of Internet sites. Whilst the allegations are ridiculous (why should the commander of one of the strongest armies in the world should make use of Internet sites to plot a coup), AKP and its people are no longer hiding their perception of the legitimate Turkish Army Forces as a terrorist group!

Religious leader, Fethullah Gulen living in luxury in the USA, his followers and the likes of Erdogan have worked hard over the years the weaken the army as it is considered as the protector of the secular system in Turkey. Instead, they invested in their "Golden Generation" and placed them in the police force. That is why now the police rise as the strongest organisation in the country. The police force is now an organisation filled with people who have a particular agenda of changing the way of life in Turkey. Alcohol consumption, modern way of dressing, so on and so forth are becoming offenses on which the police start to take action.

Erdogan is so intolerant of people who criticise him that he even started a court case against the leader of the opposition.

The domestic and foreign media who claim that this is a democratisation process in Turkey because for the very first time, a former army commander has been put to jail are blind. Democracy starts with free universities, followed by free media; none of which yet exists in Turkey. This is the truth we live in! And people like us will soon need to go and live underground unless we agree to cover our heads, wear burqas and lie that we are with them...
