The latest pearls of wisdom from Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the current prime minister of Turkey: Stove gas is also dangerous. This doesn’t mean that there should not be a nuclear plant in an earthquake zone like Turkey!
It is very curious why he rushes building a nuclear plant in Akkuyu with the Russians (the project never went through a tender) by the Mediterranean cost of Turkey in one of the few untouched and unspoilt natural wonders of the region, green and beautiful as a paradise.
And despite all of this, Erdogan, his team and the foreign media insist that Turkey is a model to the Arab world. Firstly, how can a third class democracy (it is a democracy only for people like Erdogan and who support him) be a model for others? Secondly, why should Turkey be a model to the Arab world? Is it because the majority of the Turkish population is Muslim? Then should France be a model to Italy and Spain, because they are all Catholic? Turks have nothing to do with Arabs. We do not have anything against them but we do not have anything in common with them besides the religion, which we often times practice differently anyway. AKP government and the like are very keen to form some sort of connection between the Turks and Arabs due to their neo-Ottoman mentality and the encouragement they receive from the Western powers under the Great Middle East Project.
The aim is to turn Turkey into another Malaysia, economically strong – all very good, and yet religious and following Sharia law in places – not good at all!

Erdogan is so stubborn that despite the uproar by the Turkish public against the construction of the nuclear plant following the disasters in Japan, he insists again and again that the construction will start in a few weeks time, not even months! Why this rush Erdogan? Especially in a country with so many untapped resources for renewable energy?
Erdogan is also so wary of any opinion that goes against him that he did not only arrest academics, scientists, lawyers who speak against him under the pretence of a made-up case called “Ergenekon”, he now started arresting journalists who write against him whilst an Islamist newspaper columnist Huseyin Uzmez aged over 70 walks out from prison despite raping a 14 year old girl.
Erdogan doesn’t stop there: he accuses the Turkish media with exaggerating the violence against women. Erdogan states that violence against women always existed in Turkey and it is only recently that the Turkish media started exaggerating the numbers and levels of rape, murder against women who want a divorce or a better life for themselves. He lashes out against the media about this and yet he doesn’t propose any solution to the problem.
